University of Santiago de CompostelaSantiago de Compostela is known for having one ofthe oldest universities in the world. It is more than 500 years old and remainsthe city and region’s core foundation of education. University of Santiago de Compostela is composed of two campuses, the main one is centrally located in Santiago, andthe other is located in Lugo, another city in Galicia.
There are over 40,000 students and around 3,000faculty and staff members throughout the two campuses. Including the academicfaculties, libraries, student residence halls and sport buildings, the campuscontains around 30 buildings in total; encompassing over one million squaremeters of land in the center of Santiago.
