University of Santiago de Compostela
Santiago de Compostela is known for having one of the oldest universities in the world. It is more than 500 years old and remains the city and region’s core foundation of education. University of Santiago de Compostela is composed of two campuses, the main one is centrally located in Santiago, and the other is located in Lugo, another city in Galicia.
There are over 40,000 students and around 3,000 faculty and staff members throughout the two campuses. Including the academic faculties, libraries, student residence halls and sport buildings, the campus contains around 30 buildings in total; encompassing over one million square meters of land in the center of Santiago.
