Study Spanish Courses At University of Leon
León’s geographical location makes it an ideal Spanish course destination; the Spanish spoken in the area is known to be pure and correct, free from the influence of other languages and dialects. The University of León’s Centro de Idiomas (Language Center) has a long tradition of teaching Spanish to foreigners from across the world. The center was established in 1956 and today enjoys its own facilities (independent of the main campus) in León’s city center.
Personalized attention by highly trained teachers that care for students in and out of the classroom helps foster an atmosphere of friendliness and familiarity at the Center (maximum class size is 12). Spanish courses at the University of León are complemented with numerous activities programmed for weekends and holidays aimed at developing the student’s understanding of Spain’s natural, historical, artistic and cultural heritage.
The Language Center offers the unique service of helping students prepare the documentation necessary to obtain academic credits at colleges and universities in the US. The University has also established bi-lateral agreements with the following US institutions: Bryant College (RI), Stony Brook University (CT), Connecticut State University (KT), Northern Kentucky University (KT), University of Wisconsin Green Bay (WI), Saint Norbert College (WI), Molloy College (NY), Michigan Technological University (MI) and College of the Holy Cross (MA).
All Spanish courses at the University include class materials, guided tours of the city and selected monuments and museums, trips to sites of cultural significance throughout the province, certificate of attendance and graduation diploma, accommodation-finding service and access to university services such as library, lecture halls, computer rooms and sport facilities.
Spanish courses at the University are structured according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, with levels all the way from A1 to C2. Students are given a level test on the first day of class and are then assigned to an appropriate level.
